Is the site:

  • Merely a marketing tool describing your business - simply a presence in “cyberspace”?
  • For on-line enquiries?
  • For e-mail orders where payment will be COD?
  • An internet shop with a payment gateway (credit card authorization facility)?
  • Shopping cart enabled – items can be added or removed from the cart while browsing an online catalogue?

How often are you planning on making changes to the content of the site?

If the content of your site is relatively static, you may want to consider having the pages built statically which in the short term is the cheaper option. And any subsequent changes to the content can be done manually by us at a reasonable hourly rate. Or allow us to maintain the site completely (The internet is our area of expertise.)

Alternatively, if there are content changes on a regular basis you should consider a CMS (content management system) where the pages of your site will be editable by you through special administration access to your site. It is as easy as using your favorite word processor (eg. Microsoft Word).

How are you going to let people know you exist in “cyberspace”?

Being that your site is out in cyberspace you will most likely want people to find out about it through search engines and online ads. Here there are several options:

  • All the search engines offer online marketing on a CPC (cost per click) basis. This means that where ever your ad is shown you will only be charged if someone actually clicks the link on the ad. The cost of this is on going and though seems cheap in the short term and amount to a considerable cost over an extended campaign.
The CPC is calculated against the popularity of the keywords chosen ranging from a few cents to a few dollars per click. We offer a service where by we will research the most appropriate keywords to use too display your ads against based on internet search statistics.

  • Alternatively we can optimize your site based on research on the market you service through your site to advice on how the content of your site should be written in order to get your page ranking where you would like it, at the top of the list! (The way content is written for the internet is very different to print.)
  • We offer a service where we will “baby sit” and optimize your site for 6 weeks after it has been launched which generally covers 2 indexing cycles of most of the major search engines.  (Google, yahoo, etc.)
